Seeking a Kaitiaki Punirawa to support our Marae and facilities.
The Marae holds a unique significance as a cultural and historic hub for six of the eight iwi in Te Tauihu o te Waka a Maui, connected through their common tupuna Kaakati.
The Kaitiaki Punirawa is a highly relational role, charged will managing Manaakitanga on behalf of the iwi owners of the Marae. There are two distinct parts to this role:
To promote and market the Marae as venue for Māori cultural acquisition, manage function bookings and ensure the provision of manaakitanga for kaimahi and manuhiri using the Marae.
To ensure the facilities are well appointed and maintained in line with the Maraes’ 25 year Maintenance Program.
