Youth services

Taiohi who are referred into Whakatū Marae Whānau Ora Services are often in need of positive interventions to help guide transformative behaviours. Whakatū Marae and the kaimahi provide a stable, kaupapa Māori structure for taiohi to be in while a range of interventions is planned and implemented for their current needs and future wellbeing.

Interventions are individual to each taiohi as well as the whānau and will be developed with current and future wellbeing of all, in mind.

A variation of skill development and access to educational and recreational opportunities will be encouraged for taiohi and the whānau. These services provide opportunities to develop further life skills and find supporting strategies to deal with life’s pressures, using tikanga Māori to encourage tika and pono in day to day being.
