We are seeking two Kaitūwhana-Navigators to join our team on a full-time permanent basis starting in January 2026.
Mō te tūranga mahi – About the roles
These roles are pivotal in providing support to individuals and whānau experiencing crisis, distress, or complex challenges. Offering practical support and advocacy across a wide range of life areas such as health, housing, education and employment to name a few. Key outcomes of these roles are to:
- Empower whānau to be self-managing
- Support living healthy and balanced lifestyles
- Whānau participate actively in their community
- Whānau are confident in their identity and engaged in Te Ao Māori
- Whānau are economically secure and contributing to generational wealth
- Whānau are connected, resilient and supported.
Mōu – About you
To be effective in these positions you will need to be passionate and dedicated to support whānau to achieve their goals and aspirations. Empathetic to the challenges whānau face and bring a non-judgemental solution focused approach to your mahi. Demonstrate success in aligning personal practice with the visions, goals, policies, and tikanga of Whakatū Marae Whānau Ora Services.
Our ideal candidates will have:
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrated commitment to Te Ao Māori, tikanga and te reo Māori
- Training in trauma-informed practice
- Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Established key stakeholder relationships and or open to developing and fostering new relationships.
- Ideally qualifications such as NZ Certificate in Whānau Ora, Health and Wellbeing
- Proficiency in MS applications and report writing
- A full clean driver’s license
