\n\t\t\n\t\t\t18 March, 2023\t\t<\/span>\n\n\t\t\t\t\tAll day<\/span>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\r\n\r\n\rA new race on the calendar and it\u2019s right on our doorstep.\r\n\r\nDetails below but all entry information is now available live on the\u00a0event website<\/a>\u00a0:\r\n\r\nT\u0113n\u0101 koutou ng\u0101 karapu waka ama o te waka o Aoraki\r\n\r\nNau mai haere mai ki te whakataetae hou ko *AORERE SPLASH*\r\n\r\nI would like to invite you to take part in the inaugural 52km Waka ama change race starting in the beautiful Kaiteretere, racing along the ancient M\u0101ori highway into the heart of Abel Tasman Park, then returning to Kaiteretere.\r\n\r\nThe race date has been set for Saturday March 18th<\/sup>\u00a02023 8:00am start.\r\n\r\nThere will be a steerers and escort boat drivers briefing on the Friday evening at 6pm in Kaiteretere (venue to be confirmed). This will be mandatory for all teams.\r\n\r\nCategories\r\n\r\n(1) OC6 Women \u2013 10 paddlers\r\n\r\n(2) OC6 Men \u2013 9 paddlers\r\n\r\n(3) OC6 Mixed \u2013 Maximum of 5 men 10 paddlers\r\n\r\nWe will be also offering a shorter race starting at the same time as the 52km race this will be 32km.\r\n\r\nEntry is available for clubs in Te Waka o Aoraki \/ South Island only.\u00a0 Full details including a list of escort boat drivers will be provided closer to the race date, as well as a P\u0101nui in November.\r\n\r\nAttached is a race intention form. If you are interested in racing, please complete the form and return via email.\r\n\r\nAccommodation in Kaiteretere is limited, there is still availability now, but it will not last long.\u00a0<\/strong>\r\n\r\nWe will provide an area to unload your waka on the Friday.
