Facilitator will Facilitate the Family Harm Safety Assessment Meetings (SAM) and the Hight-Risk Management meetings. The aim of SAMS is to share critical information, triage, assess risk and safety and priorities actions and referrals to support whānau experiencing family harm.

The Facilitator ensures connected, effective responses are planned and carried out for families affected by family harm. They facilitate a constructive and supportive team environment focused on the safety and wellbeing of whānau and support the daily operations and enable the collective response to focus on the problem solving and actions to support the whānau.

This person will offer knowledge and insight in engaging, understanding, and responding to whānau needs by utilising, whakapapa, tikanga, pūrākau and Te Ao Māori.

Kaiawhina will play a key role in the daily multi-agency Safety Assessment Meetings (SAM) comprising practitioners from Corrections, Health, Oranga Tamariki, and the Police. The purpose of the SAM is to share critical information, triage, assess risk and safety and priorities actions and referrals to support whānau.

The Kaiawhina will be the focal point for gathering information, liaison and communication, advocacy and other supports as identified by the whānau, whilst upholding the privacy and confidentiality of all involved.

Manage and support daily operations of the FH multi-agency system for all agencies

Provide accurate administration action that aligned with local governance direction for the relevant Family Harm response (e.g., Whāngaia, SR), including administrative action resulting from daily Safety Assessment Meetings (SAM)

Monitor the progress of plans, tasking and follow ups as required, and create new records in the Family Safety system as it is provided.
