 Our Vision:

​To be united, innovative, and the leading marae in Te Tau Ihu ō te Waka a Maui, ensuring Tinorangātiratangā is able to flourish for the benefit of our whānau, hapū, iwi and our mokopuna.

(To address, restore and enhance the Mana and Tapu of the Whānau)

Our Values

Our Strategic Direction

 Whakatū Marae will contribute to the whānau, hapū and iwi, Māori and community by supporting the aspirations of our community on this marae through: 
  • ​Participation in Te Ao Māori
  • Maanakitanga, through the use of Whare Tupuna and Wharekai
  • Establishing systems and guidelines that increase the opportunities for cultural participation
  • Creating long term employment initiatives and opportunities for whānau
  • Progressing educational programmes
  • Supporting leadership initiatives
  • Participating fully in Whakatū community

Location

Whakatū Marae is located between Founders Park and Miyazu Japanese Gardens. Office and services are located in the long building next to Founders Park, at the far end of the long veranda.
